OrthoPaws is a veterinary orthotics and prosthetics provider serving pet owners and veterinary practices worldwide, with a dedicated facility in Palm Harbor, Florida for in-person fittings and castings when needed.

Several members of our team previously worked at OrthoPets. That experience is here, in the people assigned to your case.

How can we help you?

For pet parents

Your pet has an OrthoPets or other orthotic device that needs attention.

We work with pet owners worldwide and can remotely evaluate your pet's device using photos and videos to help determine the next best steps. In many cases, you do not need a veterinary referral to get started.

Repairs, adjustments, and refurbishments do not require a vet referral. A new custom device does, and we will guide you through that when it applies.

What to expect

For pet parents with an existing device.

1

Send photos or video

Share photos or a short video of your pet and their current device. The more we can see, the better we can help.

2

We assess and recommend

A case manager reviews the device and your pet's current needs, then tells you what the right next step is.

3

Repair, adjust, or build

We handle adjustments, replacement parts, refurbishment, or fabrication of a new device based on what your pet actually needs.

4

Support throughout

We stay involved through fitting, follow-up, and any adjustments for the life of the device.

What a VOP referral partnership looks like

For vet professionals and rehab centers.

1

Submit the case online

Complete our online case form with the patient's clinical history, diagnosis, and any relevant imaging. No phone call is required to get started. If you would like to discuss the case, our Case Managers are always available and you can book a call at your convenience.

2

Candidacy confirmed

After your case is submitted, our Case Managers review the clinical history, diagnosis, and imaging you've provided to confirm whether the patient is a good candidate, typically within one business day.

3

Impression and fabrication

We guide your team through the impression process. Partner clinics can choose traditional casting or our digital scanning solution, eliminating the need to ship casts and helping reduce turnaround times. Fabrication and quality review are handled entirely by OrthoPaws.

4

Fitting and follow-up

Whether the fitting is performed remotely or at our Palm Harbor location, we are here to support you every step of the way. We stay involved through function review and any adjustments needed to ensure the best possible outcome.

Questions we hear most

Can OrthoPaws help former OrthoPets clients?

Yes. OrthoPaws includes team members who previously supported OrthoPets clients. If your pet has a device that needs repair, adjustment, or replacement, OrthoPaws can evaluate it and recommend next steps. No vet referral is required for repairs, adjustments, or refurbishments.

Can OrthoPaws repair or service an existing veterinary orthotic or prosthetic device?

Yes. In most cases, OrthoPaws can assess the device remotely using photos or videos and recommend whether it needs an adjustment, replacement parts, a refurbishment, or a completely new device.

Do I need a vet referral to get my pet's brace or prosthetic repaired?

No vet referral is required for repairs, adjustments, or refurbishments. If a new custom device needs to be fabricated, a veterinary impression is required to ensure accurate fit. OrthoPaws will guide you through that step when it applies.

Does OrthoPaws require an in-person visit?

No. Most evaluations, fittings, and follow-ups are handled remotely through photos, video, and digital tools. For cases where an in-person impression or fitting is recommended, our Palm Harbor, Florida facility is available. OrthoPaws serves pet owners and veterinary practices worldwide through a fully remote process.

What types of conditions and devices does OrthoPaws support?

OrthoPaws works with dogs, cats, and other animals including goats, pigs, and rabbits. Conditions treated include: CCL (cranial cruciate ligament) injuries, Achilles tendon injuries, carpal and tarsal hyperextension, elbow instability (post-injury and post-surgery), osteoarthritis requiring joint support, angular limb deformities, and partial limb loss where prosthetic candidacy applies. Device types include stifle (knee) braces, tarsus (ankle) braces, carpus (wrist) devices, elbow braces, and partial limb prosthetics. If you are unsure whether a specific case qualifies, contact the team and a case manager will assess candidacy with you.
