This brace is most commonly used for Achilles tendon injuries, but also supports chronic instability, tarsal collapse, digit deformities, arthritis, and post-surgical recovery.
We tailor every brace to the animalās unique limb anatomy and condition. Depending on your petās needs, it can provide full immobilization or allow for progressive, controlled motion.
Built with waterproof, medical-grade materials that are durable, easy to clean, and made to handle daily movement and exposure to outdoor conditions.
When appropriate, we use multi-axis hinges to support natural motion while maintaining external control. These can help preserve a more normal gait in active or recovering animals.
If needed, we may incorporate a paw segment to support alignment, especially in cases with missing digits, neurologic dragging, or severe deformities. This piece is removable in many cases once the limb stabilizes.
This brace can support recovery after surgical tendon repair, or be used as a non-surgical management tool for cases not eligible for surgery.
Animals must tolerate gentle limb handling and weight-bearing to be safely casted and fitted for this brace. It should not be applied over wounds or infections, and fractures must be fully healed before use.
If the hip or stifle (knee) above the tarsus is non-functional, a tarsal brace may not provide enough support on its own. Bracing should not be used as a substitute for functional movement above and below the joint.
Daily monitoring is essential. This brace must be removed at night or when unsupervised, and adjustments may be needed over time as strength and posture change.
Neurological animals may need additional support or rehab to adapt to the brace. If proprioception or awareness of the paw is limited, a paw segment or additional strategies may be needed.
We strongly recommend waiting until your animal is skeletally mature before ordering a brace. If bracing is done before full growth is reached, there is a high chance the animal will outgrow the brace quickly and need to purchase one or more additional devices during development.
