Whether your animal has a traumatic injury, congenital deformity, or degenerative joint condition, the brace is shaped to match their specific needs. We commonly use this brace for carpal hyperextension, subluxation, neurological misplacement, or unusual anatomy.
Made with waterproof, medical-grade materials designed to withstand daily wear and tear. The brace is easy to clean and can be worn during walks, play, or swimming.
Our multi-axis hinge design supports the carpal joint while allowing functional motion when appropriate. In many cases, we start with full immobilization and gradually increase range of motion as the animal heals or adapts.
For certain neurologic or structural issues, we may recommend a paw segment to help guide ground contact and digit placement. This is based on the condition and overall function of the limb and is not required for all patients.
We regularly create braces for unique conditions such as radial agenesis, post-surgical collapse, or congenital limb differences. If your animal has something uncommon, we’re happy to work with you to develop a custom plan.
This brace is not recommended for animals with open wounds, unhealed fractures, or extreme skin sensitivity. The limb must be able to tolerate handling and light compression in order to cast and wear the brace safely.
In cases where the elbow or shoulder above the brace is severely compromised or non-functional, a carpal brace alone may not be sufficient to provide meaningful support.
Because carpal braces are removable and must be taken off at night, compliance and supervision are essential. If your animal is highly active or prone to chewing, this should be taken into account before ordering.
Neurological conditions may require additional stabilization or modifications, and results can vary based on limb awareness, coordination, and paw contact. When in doubt, we’re happy to consult with you and your vet to determine candidacy.
We strongly recommend waiting until your animal is skeletally mature before ordering a brace. If bracing is done before full growth is reached, there is a high chance the animal will outgrow the brace quickly and need to purchase one or more additional devices during development.
